Picture books go beyond the boundaries of play and art, reality and fantasy, offering solace and power to people and linking images and text, children and adults, in one easily accessible
medium. Picturebook: Play and Link highlights 10 picture book authors who actively experiment with light, sound, nature, play, and the environment in their endeavors to seek new forms of
connection.
Today, the picture book genre is expanding with more diverse themes and designs than ever. This exhibition gathers people with keen interest in picture books’ expandability and unlimited
potential to explore possibilities for the genre together. By visiting the different books’ displays, you can feel with all five of your senses what you have only read in books, and discover
new features and experimental ideas about the picture book genre. A book becomes complete only when it has readers and, likewise, the displays here can only be complete with your presence. How
have picture books changed? How will they change in the near future, and what forms and content will they present to readers? Get ready to feel picture books’ power to move and connect
people’s hearts through magical play.
